Philippe Létourneau is the president of PLB Autosport, a former race car driver, current race driving instructor, and the high performance expert / judge on the Discovery Channels reality-television show, Canada's Worst Driver.
Racing Career
Philippe began racing karts at an early age encouraged by his father (a former Quebec Rally Champion). Philippe’s racing career has expanded the globe, competing at some of the world best known circuits in Canada, the United States, England and France racing various cars and series including: Formula 1600 and Formula 2000, Formula Renault, Champcar Lights, Formula Vauxhall Jr., Touring Cars, and Rolex Daytona Prototypes, culminating more than 40 podium finishes in the process.
High Performance and Racing Instructor.
Philippe is currently a high-performance, racing and driving instructor, serving as Chief Instructor (since 1995) for the Jim Russell Racing School, Chief Instructor for BMW Group Canada (Since 2001 for Driver Training and since 1998 for related Drive Events), and is a Lead Instructor / Presenter (since 2006) for the Ferrari Driving Experience.
In additional he has served as driving coach and judge (1996-1999) for the World Scholarship Competition at Donington Park, England and trains instructors for the Quebec provincial police force as well as numerous other driving clubs, organizations while aiding in critical analyst and development for car manufacturers and tire producers.
Since 1991 Philippe has trained more than 50,000 students in various auto related programs, including notable celebrities in film, music, sports as well HRH Prince Edward and HRH Princess Sophie and the astronaut crew of NASA's Space Shuttle STS-96.
Television, Media and Promotion
Philippe is currently the High Performance Expert and Judge (since 2007) on the Discovery Channel Canada’s hit television series; Canada's Worst Driver (seasons 3 to 12), the Driving Expert on the web series; Drive Like a Pro, and was the Chief Instructor and Judge on the Discovery Channel (Canada and USA) program Star Racer (2006), and made some apperance as a driving instructor on some television shows like ; Daily Planet (2012 and 2016) Canada AM (2010) Partis pour l’été (2000) and La vie est un sport dangeureux (1998). Philippe has also served a PR role for promotion and auto related insight on a recent media tour (in print, radio, internet and television) for Canadian Tire, and is sought out to represent manufacturers at car shows in Canada and Switzerland.
